Training gives an added advantage to expand the knowledge scope of all employees, but these tend to be expensive for the employers. Employees miss out on the work time during the trainings conducted, thus resulting in a delay on project completion. Training and development gives the organisation and the employees within with many advantages that make the time and cost a worthy investment.

Addressing Weaknesses

Almost all the employees have some areas for improvement at the workplace. A training session provides the platform to strengthen the skills that the employees need to develop. Implementation of a development program helps to raise the skill level of individual employees to a high standard so that all employees can contribute similarly.   This creates an employee base who can work independently or in teams, cam takeover for another employee when needed without constant supervision and help.

Improved Employee Performance

An employee with efficient training is able to perform their allocated task much effectively. They would be aware of the safety practices and the efficient way to carry out their roles. This confidence pushes the employees to reach higher levels at work. Continuous training also keeps the employees updated on the industry developments. Employees who are at the apex of changing industry standards help your company to hold a status as a leader and strong competitor within the industry.

Consistency

A structured training and development program ensures that the employees have a consistent knowledge and experience. The consistency is relevant for the company's basic procedures and policies. All employees need to be aware of these pricedures. With regular training of all employees in these areas ensures that all staff members have exposure the information.

Employee Satisfaction

Employees who have been provided with training and development funded by the organisation have an added advantage over the employees in other companies who have to seek training schemes on their own. This makes the employees feel that they are being appreciated. Employees who feel valued through training programs may feel motivated towards carrying out the or job roles.

Comments

  1. Well managed organizations have short term and long term training schedules and these programs are conducted without any compromise to the day to day business operations. If training programs are conducted without prior plan, then there could be disruption in some areas of the day to day business operation. This is not a healthy situation.

Training is an investment to the organisation since the trained employees could perform better with newly acquired skills. It is also a point to consider what type of training is provided. However, different organizations maintain different policies on training and development.
